Weekly Roundup (Week of February 5, 2018)

Over at Consequence of Sound, my beloved colleague Allison Shoemaker and I have started a podcast on TV coverage – we never have to watch TV for enjoyment again!

In this inaugural episode, we’re joined by Julie Starbird from Podlander Drunkcast and The AV Club’s Caroline Siede to talk everything from This Is Us to The Good Place and beyond! Listen to the episode here

In other podcast news, I got to relax and just guest on something finally! Michael Snydel and the other lovely boys of The Film Stage Show had me on to gush about one of my favorite films – Wim Wender’s transcendental nu-Western Paris, Texas. Listen to the podcast here

This next week’s gonna be filled with Fifty Shades-related content, so I thought I might as well get my feet (and more) wet by reviewing the third and final entry in the series. Spoiler alert: it’s bad! Read my review here

Every other week, TV Party will release a bonus episode on a fun recurring segment! This time, Allison, Caroline, Julie and I introduce the Hall of Faces – our pantheon of TV’s greatest characters. What character from NBC’s The Good Place do we inaugurate? Listen here to find out!

Back on this here website, I throw in another review to the mix – this time, it’s of the beautiful, fearless and deeply moving trans-centric drama A Fantastic Woman (currently a contender for Best Foreign Film at the Oscars). Read my review here
